<p>One embodiment of the invention uses thioxanthone compounds containing a choline or choline analogue moiety, such as CCcompound1 or [3-(3,4-Dimethyl-9-oxo-9H-thioxanthen-2-yloxy)-2-hydroxypropyl]trimethyl-ammonium chloride, to reduce or reverse body weight loss in various mouse models of human tumors.
