PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera capable of photographing an object in a stationary state by detecting the movement of the object and the existence/absence of a passer-by in camera photographing using a self-timer function. SOLUTION: The video camera 100 is provided with an image generating means 106 for generating image data in such a manner that an image generating time judging means 105 judges whether to correspond to timing for generating the image data from timing information calculated by a self-timer 102 and code change amount information calculated by a code difference amount calculating means 104 when the self-timer 102 is operated by a self-timer setting key 12 and a shutter button 11 to start photographing at timing when the object is in a stationary state.
