PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variant allele-bearing model non-human mammalian animal useful for examining the biological significance of inactivated X-chromosome's reactivation occurring in the process of non-human mammalian animal embryo development. SOLUTION: The model non-human mammalian animal has such a constantly activated allele that one X-chromosome of a pair of two sex chromosomes constantly expresses Xist gene. In the model non-human mammalian animal, the reactivation of an inactivated X-chromosome keeps constantly inhibited, thus the X-chromosome constantly keeping inactivated. Such a model non-human mammalian animal is obtained, for example, by crossing the following non-human mammalian animals A and B each other. A: a non-human mammalian animal having such a X-chromosome that a cassette comprising an expression promoter, a Cre recombinase's recognition sequence, a transcription-completed sequence and a Cre recombinase's recognition sequence from the 5'-side in this order is disposed on the upstream side of Xist gene, and B: a non-human mammalian animal expressing Cre enzyme.
