WATER-DISPERSED ULTRAVIOLET-ABSORBING POLYMER COMPOSITION

Disclosed is a water-dispersed ultraviolet-absorbing polymer composition which enables to form an ultraviolet absorbing layer which exhibits sufficient weather resistance even in the form of a thin film, while having excellent physical properties. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a composition with good polymerization stability. Specifically disclosed is a water-dispersed ultraviolet-absorbing polymer composition which is used for forming an ultraviolet absorbing layer on the surface of a molded body. This water-dispersed ultraviolet-absorbing polymer composition contains an ultraviolet-absorbing polymer which is synthesized by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture composed of 30-85% by mass of an ultraviolet-absorbing monomer which is in a solid state at 25°C and 70-15% by mass of a monomer other than a crosslinkable monomer which is copolymerizable with the ultraviolet-absorbing monomer, 10-25 parts by mass of a polymerizable anionic surface active agent per 100 parts by mass of the ultraviolet-absorbing polymer, 0-50 parts by mass of a non-polymerizable surface active agent per 100 parts by mass of the ultraviolet-absorbing polymer, and water.
