The apparatus (12) has a permanent magnet (14) assigned to an actuating element (15) and arranged with an electromagnetic actuator (13). The magnet transfers the actuating element into an operating condition permitting engagement of locking elements (16A, 16B) with a piston element (7) in a non-energized condition of the actuator. The magnet supplies the actuating element with an actuating force, which is operated in a direction of the piston element. A piston-cylinder-unit (5) has a storage space (8), whose volume is variable based on an operating condition of the piston element.
