GLASS SUBSTRATE FOR FLAT PANEL DISPLAY, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND DISPLAY PANEL EMPLOYING THE SAME
摘要
<p>A glass substrate for flat panel displays which is inhibited from yellowing when a silver electrode is formed on a surface of the glass substrate. The glass substrate for flat panel displays is one formed by the float process, and is characterized by having a composition comprising the following, in terms of oxide amount in mass%. SiO2 50-72% Al2O3 0.5-15% MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO 4-30% Na2O 0-10%, excluding 0% K2O 1-21% Li2O 0-1% Na2O+K2O+Li2O 6-25% ZrO2 0-10% Fe2O3 0.0725-0.15% The glass substrate is further characterized in that the average Fe2+ content in that surface layer of the glass substrate which extends from the top to a depth of 10 µm is 0.0725% or lower in terms of Fe2O3 amount.</p>
