PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a storage control device to make data promptly migrate between volume groups by use of a temporary volume. SOLUTION: This storage control device 1 groups volumes 3 having the same performance to form the plurality of volume groups 4A-4C. At least one temporary volume 3T is previously provided inside each volume group. A control part 5 calculates and manages priority of each piece of data. The data having highest priority inside a lower volume group are previously copied to the temporary volume inside an upper volume group in a time when not accessed from a host 8.
