PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-cycle internal combustion engine capable of reducing a toxic substance included in exhaust gas. SOLUTION: A cylinder bore 4 is provided with a proximal first scavenging port 12 and a distal second scavenging port 13 in an exhaust port 11. In a scavenging stroke, the second scavenging port 13 opens earlier than the first scavenging port 12, and air A including no fuel is introduced to a combustion chamber 6 from the second scavenging port 13.
