PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tires useful for forming white or colored rubber layer excellent in flection fatigue resistance and ozone resistance. SOLUTION: This white or colored rubber composition for tires comprises (A) a rubber component consisting of (i) an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer, (ii) a halogenated butyl rubber and (iii) a diene-based rubber, (B) 5-40 pts.wt. of zirconium silicate to 100 pts.wt. of the rubber component and (C) 1-5 wt.% of a silane coupling agent based on the total weight of the zirconium silicate.
