CATALYST FOR PRODUCING ETHYLENE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing ethylene, which allows ethylene to be produced at low temperature in high yield and with high selectivity when used for dehydrating ethanol to produce ethylene.

SOLUTION: The catalyst for producing ethylene by a dehydration reaction of ethanol contains hydrogen type ZSM-5 zeolite, which is heat-treated beforehand with ethylene preferably at 100-300°C, as an essential component. Ethanol is brought into contact with this catalyst at 150-250°C to produce ethylene.
