PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a method of determining setting content, such as a trimming parameter, of a weight resistance circuit having a plurality of bits quickly and precisely as much as possible. SOLUTION: A device has: the weight resistance circuit of N (N is not less than 2) bits; and a resistance setting means for setting the state of each bit in the weight resistance circuit to determine a resistance value of the weight resistance circuit. In the device, prescribed characteristics are determined according to the resistance value in the weight resistance circuit. The method is used for determining the setting content for the device. The method includes: a first process for measuring the characteristics when each bit of the weight resistance circuit is in a state to set the state of high-order K bits (K<N) of the weight resistance circuit based on the measured result; and a second process for measuring the characteristics for each state that low-order N-K bits can take in the above setting.
