PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image rewriting technique to speed up rewriting of a picture, and to be used for general purpose. SOLUTION: In an information display apparatus 100, flags showing whether each line is blank are stored in a memory about images before and after rewriting. When trying to rewrite a picture, the flags are compared with each other about the images before and after rewriting. When rewriting the picture, processing is skipped about lines both of which are blank before and after rewriting, and rewriting is performed about a line before and after rewriting of which at least either line is not blank.
