The device has a coupling unit formed by a circular disk (5) and a connector (4). The connector is supported on a load receiving element (3) and the circular disk is rotatably fixed at the connector. The disk has a slit (6) running inwards and a guide (8) for guide rollers (9) of a load receiving device (10). The coupling unit is connected with the load receiving device by the coupling unit where the load receiving device supports a roller end (2), where a cable of a cable guidance runs on a side of the coupling element. An independent claim is also included for a method for lifting a calendaring roll.
