An apparatus for providing multimedia data, a digital multimedia system using the same, and an operating method thereof are provided to receive multimedia data of various formats stored in a storage, to convert the multimedia data into MPEG-TS(moving picture experts group-transport stream), and to transmit the MPEG-TS to an external digital device so that a user watches the multimedia data through the digital TV. An apparatus for providing multimedia data(200) comprises a storage(210), a decoder(230), an MPEG converting part(240), wireless interface parts(250,310), and a control part. The storage stores multimedia data of various formats. The MPEG converting part converts the data decoded by the decoder into MPEG-TS. The wireless interface parts transmit the converted MPEG-TS to the outside. The wireless interface parts are blue tooth or wireless local area network. A digital image/voice output device(350) stores the MPEG-TS, and image/voice-processes the MPEG-TS for output.
