<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an objective lens from colliding with an optical disk during reproducing or recording of the optical disk. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pickup system is provided with; a light source 25 which projects an approach detection light B; a first optical element 23 which refracts the approach detection light B projected from a light source 25; a second optical element 24 to which the approach detection light refracted by the first optical element 23 and reflected with the optical disk 10 is made incident and which refracts the approach detection light in the direction of separating from the optical disk 10; and an optical detector 26 which receives the approach detection light refracted by the second optical element 24. When the objective lens 21 abnormally approaches the optical disk 10, a focusing actuator 30 is controlled so that the objective lens 21 keeps away from the optical disk 10 based on an output of the optical detector 26 which receives the approach detection light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
