PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a back panel of a plasma display panel including a substrate dielectric layer having a uniform thickness and a highly accurate partition formed of a little amount of partition material even if the plasma display panel is made with high accuracy and discharge cells are made in minute detail. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a back panel of a plasma display panel including address electrodes 22 formed on a back substrate 20, a substrate dielectric layer 21 formed on the address electrodes 22 and partitions formed on the substrate dielectric layer 21, a step for forming the partitions includes a forming step for forming a partition material layer 30 by applying material of partitions on the substrate dielectric layer 21; a molding step for pushing the partition material layer 30 by a molding die 31 having a female recess portion 32 of a predetermined partition shape; an exposing step for exposing a base partition portion 35 in the female recess portion 32 through the molding die 31, a mold releasing step for releasing the molding die 31; and a developing step for developing the base partition portion 35.
