<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit radio waves for sensing an obstacle from being generated from a vehicle while it stops. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle obstacle sensing apparatus 10 is provided with: a radar apparatus 12 for transmitting the radio waves at a predetermined strength, and sensing the obstacle in front of the vehicle W; an activation device controlling means 20 for controlling activation devices 14, 18 for activating the vehicle W based on obstacle sensing information from the radar apparatus 12; a vehicle speed measuring means 22 for measuring a speed of the vehicle W; an inspection state sensing means 20 for sensing an inspected state of the vehicle W; and a radio wave strength controlling means 20 for controlling the strength of the radio waves transmitted from the radar apparatus 12. When the vehicle speed measured by the vehicle speed measuring means 22 is the predetermined vehicle speed or less and the inspection state sensing means 20 does not sense the inspected state of the vehicle, the radio wave strength controlling means 20 is configured so as to control the strength of the radio waves transmitted from the radar apparatus 12 to a predetermined strength or less, or instruct the radar apparatus 12 to interrupt a transmission of the radio waves. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
