PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device or a control method for an automobile capable of securely and inexpensively preventing a mistake of pedaling an accelerator device and a brake of the automobile without causing other problems. SOLUTION: The automobile control device or control method is provided with a first warning recognition means for making a driver feel in his/her body rapid increase in pedaling force by an elastic reaction means 20 in accordance with a pedaling angle of the accelerator device; a second warning recognition means using a warning device by sound, light and vibration etc.; and a third warning recognition/stop means using an engine stop switch. An angle of the elastic reaction position B is set≥10°and≤30°, and an angle of the warning signal position is set≥-3°and≤+5°of the elastic reaction position B. An angle of the engine stop position is set≥0°and≤5°from the elastic reaction position B and≥-3°and≤+3°of the full opening position of a throttle device.
