HIGH PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP AND LAMP WITH REFLECTOR USING THIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light utilization efficiency of a high pressure discharge lamp by a means free from early stage blackening, swelling or burst of a light emitting part used for a lamp with a reflector due to overheating of the light emitting part and an electrode arranged in the light emitting part.

SOLUTION: A light emitting part 7 of an arc tube 6 of a high pressure discharge lamp 1 attached to a concave reflector 9 in one body radiates light toward a front opening part 10 of a concave reflector 9. A annular lens 20 concentrates the light and irradiates an object to be irradiated with the light. The annular lens 20 has the optical axis coaxially arranged with the tubular axis of the arc tube 6 to be pivotally attached to a sealing part 8R of the arc tube 6 so that the annular lens faces the half surface part of the light emitting part 7 from one edge side of the arc tube 6.
