PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing device capable of reading in image data normally while reducing the load on a CPU. SOLUTION: The CPU 4 processes a front-part protocol of input data from a video camera 16 (a USB camera etc.) through software. Further, the CPU 4 sets a head address for writing image data of the input data to a video memory 13 to an address counter 6 and also sets the number of transfer bytes of the image data to a transfer byte number counter 7. After the processing of the front-part protocol is completed, an address counter 6 generates write addresses for writing the image data to the video memory 13 one after another. The transfer byte number counter 7 counts down the number of transfer bytes to clock the period wherein the image data are transferred to the video memory 13. When the counted value of the transfer byte number counter 7 reaches 0, the CPU 4 processes a rear-part protocol of the input data through software. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
