Provided are a liquid container in which a plurality of containers can be contained into each other in a high density without degrading the electrica l connection between the contacts of a device side terminal and a circuit bo ard; a container holder; and a liquid consumption device. An ink cartridge ( 100) having a generally rectangular flat parallelepiped shape is so disposed that the two side surfaces (15, 16) crossing the short sides of its end sur face (11) in the inserting direction are positioned on the upper and lower s ides. A circuit board (17) is provided on the upper side surface (15) of the ink cartridge (100), and a container side fixing structure (40) is provided on the lower side surface (25).
