Methods for treating delirium, including postoperative delirium, sepsis-a ssociated delirium, and drug or alcohol withdrawal-associated delirium with ibudilast are disclosed. Treatment may further comprise administration of on e or more other agents, such as analgesics, anti-inflammatory and central ne rvous system (CNS)-partitioning phosphodiesterase inhibitors, antidepressant s, neuroleptics, benzodiazepines, and procholinergic agents.
