<p>The invention relates to support clamp (1) for a substantially planar work-piece (5), the support clamp comprising a base structure (2) for mounting or resting on a floor or other work surface, the base structure having an elongate body with a transverse groove (18) therein, the groove being adapted to receive the work-piece in an erect orientation (11), the groove having a first sidewall (3) substantially parallel to the transverse axis of groove, and a second sidewall (4) arranged at a convergence angle with the transverse axis of the groove so that the groove has a substantially trapezoidal plan, one of the sidewalls overhanging the groove space so that the surface area of the groove plan is greater towards the bottom of the groove than it is at the top, the support clamp comprising a clamping member (10) which is wedge shaped and adapted to be received in the groove in clamping engagement with a work-piece mounted therein.</p> |
