<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil seal 1 with a main lip 5 and a dust lip 6 in close contact with a peripheral face 21a of a shaft 21 in a slidable manner for allowing inserting of the shaft 21 therein at the side of the dust lip 6, having the construction for the dust lip 6 hard to reverse during inserting the shaft. <P>SOLUTION: A bent portion 6c is provided between a front end 6a and a base end 6b of the dust lip 6 for preventing the reversion of the dust lip 6. Regarding the bent portion 6c, an inclination angle β of a dust lip inner peripheral face 6d ranging from the front end 6a to the bent portion 6c is set to be smaller than an inclination angle γ of a dust lip inner peripheral face 6e ranging from the bent portion 6c to the base end 6b. A shaft insertion side end face diameter d<SB>3</SB>of the dust lip 6 is set to be larger than a chamfered diameter d<SB>2</SB>of the shaft 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
