摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device capable of reproducing and acquiring the whole motion of an operator's hand and acquiring an operation input intended by the operator by detecting the motion of the hand. <P>SOLUTION: The device comprises a back of hand detection means which is installed to the back of the operator's hand to detect a motion or attitude of the back of the operator's hand; a finger attitude detection means which is installed to the finger tip ahead the first joint of a finger of the operator to detect the attitude of the operator's finger, the means detecting a bending-directional bending motion or attitude of the first joint of the finger; and a table capable of defining each relative angle of the first, second and third joints of forefinger based on the angle formed by an operating point of the forefinger and the back of hand at least for the forefinger in holding operation of the hand. A finger shape is estimated by determining a relative angle position of the fingertip to the back of hand based on back of hand attitude information obtained from the back of hand detection means and finger attitude information obtained from the finger attitude information, and estimating a relative angle of each joint of the finger based on the table, and the attitude and shape of the hand are estimated based on this finger shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p>
