<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of lessening the waviness of transfer material caused by the inverted crown shape of a fixing means, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device is equipped with: the fixing means T comprising a heating rotating body 172 having a heating element H and a pressure rotating body 173 opposed to the heating rotating body 172 to form a nip part, at least either of which has the inverted crown shape; and a post-fixing roller 11 provided on the downstream side of the heating rotating body 172 and the pressure rotating body 173.
