PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which adopts the error diffusion method so as to prevent a pseudo contour from being generated based on delay of dots. SOLUTION: The image processor receives input of a diffused error from neighboring pixels and performs processing to correct a pixel value (input value) of a pixel that is an object to be processed and decrease gradations. The error with gradation decrease is then calculated by a subtraction section 107 and diffused to neighboring pixels. At such a time, only when an input value is 0.5 or more, the error from the neighboring pixels and the error to neighboring pixels are multiplied by -1 by inversion sections 101, 109.
