Exemplary embodiments of this invention substantially reduce self-interference between antennas of a multi-antenna electronic device using IRC without basing interference- minimizing effects (e.g., the covariance matrix) on attributes of the received signal, hi one, non-limiting exemplary embodiment, a method includes: determining, based on at least one property, a covariance matrix for interference rejection combining (IRC), wherein the covariance matrix is determined prior to reception of a signal for which the IRC is to be used (501); receiving the signal (502); and utilizing the determined covariance matrix with the IRC to reduce self-interference of the received signal (503). In another exemplary embodiment, a method includes: determining at least one temporal property of self-interference for a signal prior to reception of the signal (601); receiving the signal (602); and utilizing the determined at least one temporal property to reduce self-interference of the received signal (603).
