Provided is a capsule type image pickup device having a camera module constituted of a first MID, and this first MID includes a light emitting element for illuminating the inside of a digestive tract, and an image sensor for taking an image of that inside. A charge storage unit and a charge unit are integrated into a second MID. The charge storage unit has a capacitor, so that the charge stored in the capacitor is released to energize the camera module and a communication module. The charge unit charges the capacitor with an electromotive force induced by a changing magnetic field from the outside. In this constitution, the device can execute both the illumination and the image pick by itself, and can be easily small-sized.
