[PROBLEMS] To promptly decode and reproduce contents of any encoding formats. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] When a TV (1) has judged that it cannot decode a content to be viewed by a user, the TV (1) asks other device such as a game device (3) and a PC (4) whether it can decode the content via a high-speed data line (150) capable of performing bidirectional IP communication in an extended HDMI and transmits the content and a decoding request command to the device which has answered that it can perform decoding, via the high-speed data line (150). The game device (3) or the PC (4) which has received the decoding request decodes the content and transmits the decoded content as a base line signal to the TV (1) via a TMDS channel in the extended HDMI so that the content is reproduced.
