#CMT# #/CMT# The steering device for a vessel supplies under heightened pressure main flow of fluid to primary inlet of distribution equipment. A centrifugal pump (5) pumps water and is connected via a conduit (6) to an inlet (2) of a valve (1). The valve is further provided with a first outlet (3) and a second outlet (4). Via a hose (10), the first outlet is in open communication with a port-side outflow aperture of an injection body. The second outlet (4), by means of a second hose (11), is in open communication with a starboard outlet via an injection body on the starboard side of the vessel. #CMT# : #/CMT# The vessel can thus be manoeuvred by a stream of water emerging from a portside or starboard outflow opening. The valve has a tubular connecting body (7) which is in a rest position in which the first and second outlets are closed for throughflow of water. The connecting body (7) is movable out of the rest position in order to open the first and second outlets. Springs (28) are provided which tension the connecting body in the rest position. The body is displaceably located in a chambe (8) of the valve. On opposite sides of the connecting body the chamber (8) is provided with inlets (12,13) for water coming from the pump. The valve has a tubular inlet part (21), in which are a number of primary and secondary through passages (22,23). The valve also has a tubular outlet part, in which the first and second outlet parts are provided. The inlet and outlet parts are held together by head end parts (26,27). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# For steering a vessel by controlled water flow. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The figure presents a cross-sectional view of the valve in accordance with the invention, together with conduits connected to the valve. 1 : Valve 2 : Valve inlet 3,4 : First and second outlets 5 : Centrifugal pump 6 : Conduit 7 : Tubular connecting body 8 : Valve chamber 10,11 : Hoses 12,13 : Inlets 21 : Tubular inlet part 22,23 : Primary and secondary through passages 26,27 : Head end parts 28 : Springs. |
