IMAGE READER, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of constructing a relay conveyor with a simple sheet conveying passage and simple mechanisms while suppressing the full height of an apparatus body.

SOLUTION: The relay conveyor 4 is integrally assembled in an image reader 2 which is placed on the apparatus body 1. A lower mechanism 4b of the relay conveyor 4 is fixed in the apparatus body 1 and an upper mechanism 4a is built up on a bottom of a reader case 2a. When processing sheet jamming in the relay conveyor 4, an automatic document feeder 2a and the reader case 4a are integrally turned backward to open a carrying surface of a sheet. In comparison with a case where the image reader 2 and the relay conveyor 4 are configured separately, the number of components is decreased and an apparatus body height including the image reader is also reduced.
