PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly roll a roller in a proper attitude by forming a connecting part between an end cap and a retaining plate retaining the roller in a raceway into a smooth circulating passage, in a linear motion guide unit. SOLUTION: A slider 2 has a casing 3, the end cap 4, the roller 5 rolling on the circulating passage, the retaining plate 13 extended along the raceway of the casing 3 to retain the roller 5 on the raceway, and a fixing band 7 fixing the retaining plate 13 to the casing 3. The retaining plate 3 is connected to a guide part 29 of the end cap 4 communicating with and extended from a direction-changing passage 30, and an end face of the retaining plate 13 is connected to an end face of the guide part 29 in a mutually complementarily conforming and covering state.
