PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an editing system and an editing method for not only reflecting an editing result of low definition content on high definition content but also reflecting an editing result of high definition content on low definition content. SOLUTION: An edition reflecting apparatus 13 edits content in a storage 1 for HD (high definition) on the basis of an editing result by a nonlinear editing device 12 for SD (standard definition) when the nonlinear editing device 12 for SD edits content in a storage 2 for SD. The edition reflecting apparatus 13 edits content in the storage 2 for SD on the basis of an editing result by a nonlinear editing device 11 for HD when the nonlinear editing device 11 for HD edits content in the storage 1 for HD.
