PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which is suitable for efficiently using a common dither matrix stored in a memory when converting image data into an N-value, while preventing degradation in picture quality caused by the regularity of dither arrangement. SOLUTION: A printing device 1 comprises an image data acquiring part 10 which acquires image data, an image data storing part 11 which stores the image data, an image processing part 12 for converting into an N-value using a dither method, a dither matrix storing part 13 for storing a dither matrix, a print data generating part 14 for generating print data, and a printing part 15 which executes a printing process based on the print data. A reference dither matrix is sequentially stored in one dimensional manner in a storage region of a high speed memory with continuous addresses. Threshold value data are cyclically and repeatedly read from the continuous addresses while a starting position for reading is displaced at each row of the image for converting image data into the N-value.
