The method involves determining individual wheel mass of the vehicle and vertical acting forces resulting from vertical accelerations of wheel and the vehicle chassis. The wheel load is observed constantly directly or indirectly in form of an equivalent parameter. The vibration dampers is adjusted in essentially maximum hard manner for a certain time interval or for a certain distance, if the wheel load or the concerned equivalent parameter lies in a critical range of values for a certain time interval.
