PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool visually recognizing a rotating workpiece or tool without using expensive pieces of equipment such as a camera and a monitor. SOLUTION: This machine tool is provided with a machining means for cutting a workpiece by rotating the workpiece or tool and making the tool relatively approach the workpiece, a light irradiation means 17 for irradiating the rotating workpiece or tool with light, and a blinking control means 16 for controlling a switching state between irradiation and stopping of the light irradiation means 17 in synchronism with the rotation of the workpiece or tool.
