PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pot excellent in safety and capable of preventing heating of the empty pot, and having a liquid storing container placed stably even if a reduced liquid remains inside the container. SOLUTION: The pot includes a pedestal having a heating device, and the container removably placed on the pedestal for heating a stored liquid by the heating device. The pedestal includes a detecting device provided so as to project from a bottom part of the pedestal and vertically swing with respect to the pedestal for detecting the residual amount of the liquid in the container, and a control device for controlling the heating device according to the detected residual amount of the liquid.
