PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that has a compact stator coil. SOLUTION: A stator coil 10 includes a belt-shaped winding band and a same-layer bridging portion 15. The winding band makes one or more windings, while turning back in the axial direction a plurality of conductor wires which are aligned in parallel at the pitch of electrical angleπ. The identical-hierarchy layer bridging portion connects a pair of conductor wires which are of the same phase at the end portion of the winding and which are arranged in the same layer of the slot.
