The drilling-branch arrangement (10) has a cover arrangement fastened to a housing (14) to close an opened end of a main channel (54). The cover arrangement makes rotation of a cutting tool, which is held at the main channel, without removing the cover arrangement from the housing. The cutting tool has a cutting edge to cut during a selective forward motion against a pipeline held in a line recess by a side wall of the pipeline for producing a fluid connection between the main channel and the pipeline. An independent claim is also included for a method for drilling a pipeline by a drilling-branch arrangement.
