<p>A cartridge where a reduced amount of ink remains in the cartridge when it is used up, that can be refilled with ink by a user, that has a simple structure, and that can be inexpensively produced. The cartridge has a cartridge container (10) with a sealed structure having inside a space for receiving ink, an ink supply opening (14) that is provided in the bottom face of the container and supplying the ink to a recording head of a carriage when subjected to negative pressure of the recording head, an ink guidance path (17) whose portion continuing to its start section, which is opened near the container bottom, is extended upward and then turned back downward, whose end section is communicated with the ink supply opening, and that guides the ink by being subjected to negative pressure of the recording head, and an ink control valve chamber (18) that is provided at the upper turn-back portion. In the ink control valve chamber (18), when a control valve is opened by being subjected to negative pressure of the recording head, the valve allows flow of the ink in the ink guidance path toward the ink supply opening, and, when the control valve is not subjected to the negative pressure, the valve prevents backflow of the ink in the ink guidance path.</p> |
