A portable display device is provided to form an uneven portion in the inside of a mold frame covering the sides of a light source, thereby increasing a contact area between air, which is heated by heat generated when the light source emits light, and the mold frame to prevent temperature around the light source from intensively increasing. A portable display device(160) comprises an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(104), a backlight assembly(150), and a mold frame. The backlight assembly includes a light source(112) for supplying light to the LCD panel. The mold frame is included into the backlight assembly to contain the LCD panel and the light source and cover at least two sides of the light source. An uneven portion(117) is formed in the inside of the mold frame covering the sides of the light source.
