PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent firing of cloth and the like when the cloth and the like covers over a heater main body. SOLUTION: A distance sensor 30 is disposed at an upper end portion of a front face of a heater main body 12 of an electric stove 1. A distance detected by the distance sensor 30 and a set distance are compared, and when a result that the distance detected by the distance sensor 30 is less than the set distance, cannot be obtained, a duration time of the state is measured. When the duration time reaches a first set time, a state that the cloth and the like covers over the heater main body 12 is judged, and the power supply to a sheath heater 21 is stopped.
