PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the service life of a chain by imparting more adequate residual compression stress to a link to improve the durability thereof while considering conditions in loading pre-tension. SOLUTION: This power transmission chain manufacturing method comprises a step of wrapping an endless chain 1 around a first pre-tension imparting pulley 32 and a second pre-tension imparting pulley 32 for loading pre-tension on the chain 1.
