PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring method and device of banking on weak underwater ground, capable of easily and accurately grasping the stability of the banking prepared on the underwater weak ground. SOLUTION: A sinking quantity S of a top part of the banking 10 prepared on the weak underwater ground 11 is measured, and a detection index body 6 arranged in a slope end part in the water of the banking 10, is detected by a narrow multi-beam sounder 3 from a work ship 2 having a GPS receiver, and a horizontal directional displacement quantity H of the slope end part of the banking 10 is measured. Data for determining the stability of the banking 10 is arithmetically operated by a control device based on the measured sinking quantity S of the top part and the horizontal directional displacement quantity H of the slope end part, and is compared with reference data input in advance.
