METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DATA ON/FROM WRITE-ONCE DISK, AND WRITE-ONCE DISK THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recording device and a data recording method further reducing access time for reading updated information required for using a write-once disk. SOLUTION: The devices and methods for recording and reproducing data on/from a write-once disk, and the write-once disk are disclosed. The write-once disk includes: a plurality of update areas in which a predetermined kind of update information is recorded; at least one main access information area in which main access information is recorded, where main access information indicates a final update area in which finally updated information is recorded among the plurality of update areas; and at least one sub access information area in which sub access information is recorded, where sub access information indicates a location of the finally updated information recorded in the final update area.
