PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a situation leading to a fault of a media processing device even in case of a failure in transporting a target medium to at least any of a data writing means, a printing means, and a media storage means according to an instruction from a host computer. SOLUTION: A control method for a publisher having: a media drive for writing data on one side of a processing target medium; a label printer for printing on the other side of the processing target medium; a media storage means for storing the processing target medium; a media transportation means for transporting the processing target medium to any one of the media drive, the label printer, and the media storage means according to a command from the host computer.
