摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable tuning fork type piezoelectric vibrator capable of distributing or alleviating concentration of vibrational stress near the root portion of a vibrator arm section to effectively attenuate vibration leakage from the vibrator arm section to a vibrator base section, and to provide a piezoelectric vibration device using the tuning fork type vibrator. SOLUTION: The tuning fork type piezoelectric vibrator includes a vibrator base section (13) and vibrator arm sections (11, 12) projected in the shape of a tuning fork from the vibrator base section. At least one through hole (14) is arranged at each root portion of the vibrator arm sections. The root portion of the vibrator arm sections preferably has a taper by which the width of the root portion increases gradually toward the direction of the vibrator base section.
