The solar cell (10) has a polymer base, and a substrate (12) on which two electrodes (14, 24) are provided. A photovoltaic function layer structure (22) is provided between the electrodes. The electrode (24) is arranged between photovoltaic function layer structures (22, 22'), to form a pair of cells (28, 28') connected with respective photovoltaic cells (30, 30'), between the electrodes and a counter electrode (26) provided at the structure (22'). The electrode (14) and the electrode (26) are connected together in an electrical conducting manner.
