PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAM apparatus and a synchronization setting method that facilitate synchronization settings and synchronization code movements and enable checks on synchronization code execution locations. SOLUTION: The CAM apparatus comprises means for storing machining program lists for a plurality of respective systems, means for creating and storing in advance synchronization pattern files describing a plurality of synchronization codes and insertion locations in association with machining programs, means for selecting machining programs for a plurality of systems and specifying synchronization of the selected machining programs across the plurality of systems, means for comparing the specified machining programs with the stored machining programs to extract the synchronization pattern files associated with matching machining programs, means for selecting an optional synchronization pattern file from the extracted synchronization pattern files, and means for automatically inserting the synchronization code corresponding to the selected synchronization pattern file in the predetermined locations in the selected machining program lists.
